Message from the Anniversary Chair
On behalf of the 40th Anniversary planning committee and University administration, faculty, staff and students, welcome to the website for USC Upstate as we celebrate our 40th Anniversary during the 2007/2008 academic year.
We have planned a year of events, nostalgia, celebrations and much more. We invite you to join us in our celebration of 40 years of outstanding progress and success and to look forward to a prosperous future. Our events include, among others, a film series focusing on films premiering in 1967 and 1968, a student/alumni homecoming gala, and an exhibit of the Traveling Vietnam Wall in April of 2008.
There will be many opportunities to participate in the celebration. We invite you to submit your reminiscences about times spent when the University was known as “The Branch,” USC Spartanburg, USCS, and now USC Upstate. If you have “then and now” photographs, our University Communications Department would love to have copies to include on the Web site and in our publications. Perhaps you would like to sponsor a tree in our “Plant 40 Trees” initiative for Arbor Day. Our Alumni Association Office would appreciate hearing from any alumni or their families.
If you have any questions or comments about the 40th Anniversary, we'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me at FDAVISON@uscupstate.edu or 503-5610.
