• American Political Science Association. The national political science association, publishers of The American Political Science Review . The APSA site includes links to other political science associations and papers from the last annual meeting that can searched and downloaded.  On-line social science journals are available from Annual Reviews, abstracts are free, articles are about $10 for fewer than 30 pages.
  
• Politics Now provides contemporary political news, events, and surveys.
  
• The website for the John F. Kennedy School of Government has links to research, publications, and library resources.
  
• The Library of Congress maintains several links of interest to political scientists. U.S. Government: Legislative Branch includes information on members of Congress and pending legislation; the U.S. Executive Branch covers the White House and all cabinet departments; the Library also covers the Federal Judiciary, including law journals, opinions, and related sites. In addition, U.S. Supreme Court Decisions, maintained by Cornell University, includes oral argument of important Supreme Court decisions.
  
• The official webpage of South Carolina is MySCGov.com. This page contains links to all major state departments. Additional information on South Carolina, including links to other databases for all states, can be found at the excellent site maintained by the Citadel, The South Carolina Information Highway. The Urban Institute site is a good source for online information about metropolitan politics.
  
• A conservative, indeed, libertarian, view of government and political policy can be found at the Cato Institute. A liberal view of many of the same issues can be found at the Brookings Institution. Both sites offer papers on public policy.
  
• The international relations website of the US government is the US Department of State. The website of the International Law Institute includes a calendar of courses, law in regions, international business, a publication catalog, and an online journal.
  
• Human rights websites include the UN High Commission for for Human Rights, the UN Development Program for Women, and the United Nations Children's Fund. Perhaps the best-known human rights organization is Amnesty International.
