Center for Women’s and Gender Studies
The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies at USC Upstate serves students, faculty, staff, and community members through academic courses and co-curricular programming, as well as paid internships and outreach to high school students. As part of the USC Upstate commitment to recognizing and supporting diversity efforts on campus, the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies co-sponsors several exciting campus events, including an international film series, a book club, and academic conferences on topics ranging from leadership and negotiation skills to contemporary media culture and innovative theories of gender and sexuality.
Resources
The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies invites all female student organizations (clubs, sororities, or political groups) to use the Center for a meeting space. Located in CASB 122 and open M-F from 9-5, the Center provides a comfortable and relaxing lounge for discussions or personal reading time, along with a growing library of books and current magazine subscriptions to alternative media outlets such as Ms., Bust, The Advocate, and Feminist Teacher.
