Global Discovery Travel Award Program
USC Upstate’s Global Discovery Travel Award Program is designed to provide support for selected university students to travel to other countries to learn about the culture, customs, political, educational, social systems and religious practices.
Global Discovery 2013 Information
Students will be selected to participate in this program each year through a competitive process and will be chosen on the basis of:
- Their financial need for support
- Demonstrated academic ability
- Genuine interest in learning about other nations
- Their willingness to share their travel experience and insights with others upon their return to the United States
This opportunity is extended to students who have completed at least 30 semester hours and have achieved a 2.5 or better GPA on all USC coursework. Student applicants are required to submit a one page statement of purpose indicating what they hope to learn while studying abroad. In addition, each applicant is expected to have a letter of recommendation completed by a professor in the student’s major.
