Upward Bound
The USC Upstate Upward Bound program is designed to increase student participants' motivation, academic and social skills to levels necessary for success in the completion of a program of secondary education, and to enter and complete a program of post secondary education. Additionally, the program seeks to promote leadership skills and an overall responsible lifestyle through its year-long series of group and individual activities.

Eligibility Requirements
• Student's family must meet low income requirements and/or
• No parent living with the applicant shall have completed a baccalaureate degree-granting program.
• Must possess academic potential.
• Must be a resident of Cherokee or Spartanburg county and be enrolled in a targeted high school from one of these counties
• Have completed the eighth grade but not yet entered the twelfth grade.
