Which professors made a difference in your life?
All of my ECE professors have taught me so much; I am very grateful
Favorite Class
I really enjoyed SEDE 445 Language Development & Communication Skills since it focused a lot on reading, one of my passions. However, clinical was my ultimate favorite because it allowed me to work directly with children.
Dream Career
At the moment, I simply dream of being an early childhood classroom teacher, but in the future I would like to pursue a career as a school library media specialist. A combination of children, books, and technology creates a dream career in my eyes.
What does USC Upstate mean to you?
As a non-traditional student, I feel that I appreciate USC Upstate more now than I would have when I was younger. I know pursuing my degree is the best thing that I can do for my family; furthermore, it allows me to feel good about myself. USC Upstate is helping me reach my educational goals.
My husband is a student at Spartanburg Community College; so with both of us incurring educational expenses, in addition to supporting our two daughters, Jaycee, 6, and Jaidyn, 3, every dollar counts in our household. This scholarship not only lightens my family’s financial burden, but makes me feel so happy that my academic achievement is being honored.
