Alumni Association Presents Medallions, Madras, and Music at USC Upstate
The University of South Carolina Upstate Alumni Association will host Medallions, Madras and Music on Saturday, October 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on the Upper Quad (directly behind the Administration Building). This entertaining event, which will feature a special performance by the Swingin’ Medallions, is for the entire community.
The Swingin’ Medallions have been based out of the Greenwood area since the early 1960's and their repertoire encompasses beach music, frat rock, R&B, or shaggin' music. The band had two Top 40 hits in 1966 and 1967, "She Drives Me Out Of My Mind" and "Hey, Hey, Baby" but "Double Shot (of My Baby’s Love)" remains the signature song of the Swingin' Medallions.
