Lee Sartor's career path since graduating from USC Upstate in 1988 appears to be the logical result of melding of two educational fields, criminal justice and human resources. He obtained both an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in human resources, was employed as a human resource manager, and now currently serves as the director of campus safety at Wofford College .
The Spartanburg native says that his experiences at USC Upstate “laid the foundation … to be successful in law enforcement and also served as a spring board for me to pursue and obtain my master's degree in human resources.”
Although he reports that his fondest memory of USC Upstate was “Graduating!!” he also is proud of his years on the men's basketball team and he remembers Drs. Romine and Owens as faculty members who left a lasting impression on him.
Although he is proud of his educational and career accomplishments, he is most proud of his wife Olivia, son LA, a freshman at AU, and daughter Fanchon, a sophomore at Dorman High School .
Active in the deacon ministry at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, founder and director of Spartanburg Bucks (youth basketball club), and member of the S.C. Police Chief Association, Spartanburg County Police Chief Association and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement, Sartor is serious about “being a positive impact on the community and in the lives of young people.”
