Malwarebytes Installation

Malwarebytes is a free and easy to use program that can scan your computer for malicious software.

  1. Go to malwarebytes.org. 
  2. Click on "Free Download."

  3. Click "Download Now."

  4. Click "Run."

  5. Click "OK."

  6. Click "Next."

  7. Select "I accept the agreement," and then select "Next."

  8. Click "Next."

  9. Select where you want to install the software (the default is c:/Program Files) and click "Next."

  10. Click "Next."

  11. Click "Next."

  12. Click "Install."

  13. Click "Finish."

  14. Malwarebytes should automatically update. Click "OK" when finished.

  15. Malwarebytes should now be up to date. You can now begin to choose your scan type that is shown below and click "Scan":

    Quick Scan- Scans the windows folder and temp folder

    Full Scan- Scans every folder on the computer

    Flash Scan – Ignore this; only for paid version

  16. When Malwarebytes has finished scanning, it will give you a list of malicious items found (if any). You can select which ones you want to remove or you can opt to remove all. A restart is required to completely remove all suspicious items.
