How to Login to and Logout of an HP Multi-function Printer

Faculty, staff, and students must login to make copies or release a print job on the HP MFP's.  Logging in is fairly straight-forward, and can be done by either swiping your Carolina One Card (USC Upstate ID card), or by entering your USC Upstate network username and password when prompted.

Logging in Using Your USC Upstate ID Card

Your first option for logging in to the HP MFP's on campus, is using your Carolina One Card, which is your USC Upstate ID card.  Any card made before December 2008 will not work due to major updates in the ID card system at that time.  If your ID card was made prior to December 2008, or if you do not have an ID card, you can get a new one created at the University Bookstore.  The Bookstore is located in the Health Education Complex, directly across from the Admissions Department.

All HP MFP's on campus have a card reader attached to the top of the printer.  When prompted to login, simply swipe your card through the card reader.  Swipe your card slowly, to avoid damaging your card and misreads, with the back of the card facing towards you.

Logging in Using Your Network Username and Password

If for some reason you do not have your University ID Card, or your ID card was made prior to December 2008, you can log in to MFP's using your network username and password.  This is the same username and password you use to login to computers and the wireless network on campus.

Students that do not remember their network username and password should visit the Help Desk in person, in the Stockwell Administration Building, Room 109.  Students can also reset their USC Upstate network password by visiting http://password.uscupstate.edu

Faculty and staff that do not remember their username and password should visit the Help Desk in person, in the Stockwell Administration Building, Room 109.
