Guangdong University of Foreign Studies

Located in the modern city of Guangzhou, Guangdong, University of Foreign Studies (广东外语外贸大学) is a major institution of higher learning focused on international studies. Created in 1995 through the merger of Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade, GSUFS is now a campus of over 26,000 students and 2,000 faculty and staff members. The university focuses on all aspects of international business as well as over 14 language programs. Because of this international focus, GDUFS hosts hundreds of international students every year and also sends out exchange students around the globe.

Guangzhou is the third largest city in China. The only larger cities are Beijing and Shanghai. It's coastal location and close proximity to Macao and Hong Kong have made it the biggest business center in all of China. Over a third of China's export leaves through the harbors of Guangzhou. Nestled in the shadow of Baiyan Mountain, the mild climate allows for flowers to bloom all year round which gives the city the nickname "the city of flowers."
