What are AlcoholEdu and Haven?
AlcoholEdu for College is an on-line prevention program that encourages students to make safe decisions regarding alcohol and how to manage the behaviors of peers in order to create a healthier campus community.
Haven is an on-line prevention program that teaches students the issues associated with sexual assault and relationship violence as well as bystander intervention methods.
How long will it take?The entire course is divided into 2 parts and takes approximately 2-2.5 hours to complete; Part 1 of the course will take upwards of 2 hours to complete and Part 2 will take 15-30 minutes. You will have a 30-45 day intersession between Part 1 and
Part 2 of the course. An email will be sent after the 30-45 day intersession prompting you to complete Part 2.
When can I
get started? AlcoholEdu and Haven will be available once your orientation reservation has been confirmed. An email with the course link and log-in information will be sent to you within a few days of your confirmation. Existing users can log-in to the program via the
In compliance with Title IX and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act, AlcoholEdu for College and Haven provide students with comprehensive prevention and intervention strategies to make safe decisions regarding Alcohol and Sexual Assault and how to manage the behaviors of their peers to create a healthy and safe USC Upstate campus.
When is it due?
What happens if I do not complete the course?
If you do not complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of AlcoholEdu for College by August 15th, a hold will be placed on your student account making you ineligible to add/drop, change or withdraw from Fall 2014 courses. Completion of the course is dependent upon completing both Part 1
and Part 2, in addition to scoring a 75% or better on the course exam at the end of Part 1.
