Junior Scholars

The USC Upstate Junior Scholars program recognizes some of the best high school juniors in South Carolina. Guidance counselors from all South Carolina high schools are encouraged to nominate five of their best junior students based on the required academic and extracurricular criteria.

By meeting the requirements for the USC Upstate Junior Scholars program, students are considered an excellent candidate for admission to our freshman class. As a junior scholar, students will automatically be considered for USC Upstate's academic scholarships and will have their $40 freshman application fee waived.

Junior Scholars ceremony
A ceremony to welcome new Junior Scholars takes place during our spring open house program on Saturday, April 29. After the ceremony, attendees will have the option to have lunch on USC Upstate's campus and participate in a full campus tour.
