USC Upstate Student Helping Sick Children In Haiti
Most students don’t help save lives on a daily basis. But Mary Young isn’t an average student. Last June, this USC Upstate nursing major embarked on a year-long mission trip to volunteer for the nonprofit Children of The Promise (COTP) ministry in Haiti. As a volunteer, Young spends her time taking care of children’s medical needs at the ministry’s infant care center in the village of Lagosette, which is about five miles from Cap Haitien, Haiti.
