USC Upstate to Host Scholastic Book Fair

02- 07- 2008

Spartanburg, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Upstate’s Teachers Educating All Children organization (TEACh), together with the student chapter of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) within USC Upstate’s School of Education, will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair fundraiser event from February 18 – 22. The second floor of the Campus Life Center at USC Upstate will be the location and the event will run all day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Books and other teaching materials will be available for Pre-K through eighth grade, including chapter books, picture books, children's software, puzzles, and other school related material.

The prices for these materials are usually lower than for-profit bookstores because they are sold by Scholastic. The authors are well-known best-selling authors of such popular children's materials like the Junie B. Jones series, Captain Underpants series, Frannie K. Stein, Magic School Bus and Magic Tree House. Order forms will be available if books are not in stock and usually are returned within two weeks.

Proceeds from the book fair will benefit the USC Upstate chapters of TEACh and ASCD, which will receive either a monetary bonus or books depending on the amount of sales.

For further information, contact Dr. Michaeleen Davis, School of Education faculty representative for the book fair, at (864) 503-5517 or mdavis@uscupstate.edu.
