Spartanburg CVB Holds Photography Contest for 2010 Visitors’ Guide

07- 13- 2009

Spartanburg, S.C. - The Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for your favorite pictures of Spartanburg County to be used in the 2010 Spartanburg Visitors’ Guide.  Winning pictures will be printed throughout the guide.

“Last year was the first year we held this contest and it was a huge success. This is a wonderful opportunity for people who enjoy photography to have their works displayed for thousands to see, while also promoting their community,” says Amy Phillips, with the Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Of the initial 30,000 Visitor Guides that were printed in March of this year, 28,000 were distributed in the first 4 months, making a reprint necessary and significantly increasing the number that will be printed next year. “Demand for these guides has been overwhelming. Because this guide showcases so many aspects of our community, this year’s Visitors Guide has been a popular request for not only tourists but also locals. While it serves as a resource for visitors, it also helps create an awareness to people who live here of what there is to do in their own backyards.”

The Spartanburg Visitors’ Guide is an annual publication with 50,000 set to be printed in 2010 and will be distributed to all 9 South Carolina Welcome Centers, GSP Airport, AAA Offices in South Carolina, tradeshows and conferences attended by the CVB, convention and meeting attendees in Spartanburg, sporting events in Spartanburg, all Spartanburg hotels, all visitor inquiries via phone, website (www.VisitSpartanburg.com), walk ins to the Visitor Center and Chamber of Commerce.

Please submit your photographs on CD-ROM (digital files only, highest quality) by Monday, August 31st to Amy Phillips, 298 Magnolia Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.

The mission of the Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau is to promote and develop Spartanburg as a destination for all visitors.
