Spartanburg, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Upstate is partnering with the Carolina TESOL (Teachers of English as a Second Language) organization to host a conference for educators in North and South Carolina on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the University Readiness Center on the campus of USC Upstate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The first annual Carolina TESOL and USC Upstate CARE (Compassion and Realistic Expectations) conference is called “Showing all teachers how to CARE for English Language Learners.” This conference is aimed at bringing together mainstream and ESOL teachers to discuss best practices in reaching struggling students of all backgrounds and is targeted primarily at practicing K-12 teachers.
