Jules Auerbach
Coordinator of Alcohol & Drug Programs
Jules was raised in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle. She relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona to attend college and obtained her B.A. in sociology from Arizona State University. She later earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montana. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and National Certified Counselor.
Her clinical training concentration incorporated substance abuse issues and co-occurring disorders as well as a focus on community mental health issues. Jules has a strong interest in animal facilitated psychotherapy and hopes someday to include this into her work at Upstate.
In her time away from work, Jules loves spending time with her family, especially her two daughters and her dogs. She enjoys running, equestrian sports, reading, and traveling.
Elizabeth Amoroso
Administrative Assistant
Beth is originally from a small town in Northwestern Pennsylvania. She has resided here with her husband since 2000. Beth has over 7 years of experience in the administrative field combined with previous experience in the medical field. Beth also attended the Wyatt Institute of Real Estate and Fortune Academy and has enjoyed a career in real estate since 2004.
In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband Jason and their Great Dane, Megan. Beth also enjoys reading, entertaining, playing the piano and traveling.
Brandon Watkins
Student Assistant
Brandon is a senior majoring in English with minor in African American Studies. A native of Gaffney, SC, Brandon has served the campus of USC Upstate in various leadership positions, this year he will be serving as Vice President of USC Upstate’s NAACP. He has most recently served as a student assistant to the Director of Alumni Affairs and president of Black Student Leaders. Other roles include: University 101 Peer Leader, School of Education Dean’s Advisory Board, a member of Opportunity Network, and President of the Cherokee County Branch of the NAACP Youth Council. He aspires to become a professor of African American Literature and a university administrator.
Outside of class, Brandon enjoys reading and writing, spending time with his family, and directing a 50 voice choir at his home church in Gaffney.
Xavier Bailey
Student Assistant
Xavier is a senior majoring in psychology. A native of Piedmont, SC. He plans on entering graduate school to further his education in the psychology field.
He is also a ropes course facilitator for the Upstate Wellness Center and a student assistant for the Student Life Center. He is very active in sports, education, and the campus life.
