Counseling Services Mission
Counseling Services at the University of South Carolina Upstate, in an effort to encourage retention, graduation, and lifelong success, works to promote holistic health and education by validating personal identities, promoting positive self-concepts, encouraging healthy choices and habits, and supporting personal, educational, and career goals. To achieve this, the Service is comprised of three areas: Alcohol and Drug Programs, Counseling Services, and Non-Traditional Student Services, each offering a supportive, safe, inclusive and confidential environment where students and faculty/staff (when appropriate) are empowered to explore options and make choices that positively affect their short-term and long-term fulfillment.
- Alcohol and Drug Programs
Promotes low-risk, healthy choices about the use of alcohol and other drugs by providing preventive and educational workshops and services, media campaigns, counseling, and substance-free events. - Counseling Services
Offers students confidential, free of charge support through one-on-one personal and career counseling, educational workshops, and testing. . - Non-Traditional Student Services
Encourages academic success by assisting in the transition to and from college, linking students to relevant services, and encouraging connections within the campus community.
