David Calvin
Counselor and Non-Traditional Student Advocate
David has worked as a full-time counselor at USC Upstate for the past 7 years. Born in Pittsburgh, David completed his undergraduate studies at Duquesne University, earning a B.A. in Philosophy. He moved on to Buffalo, New York to begin graduate work in theology and ministry.
Upon leaving the seminary, David worked in a variety of human service settings before returning to graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh and Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling with a special emphasis in Family Systems Therapy. Hiking, photography, ecology, music and dance are just some of David's interests.
Ellen Towler
Counselor, Yoga Instructor and Non-Traditional Student Advocate
Ellen has a B.A. from Vanderbilt and a M.S. in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. She has worked at USC Upstate for 12 years with a focus on stress reduction, energy psychology and personal development. She grew up in Aiken, S.C. and enjoys gardening, yoga, massage therapy and walking.
