Free Individual Tutoring is offered by the Academic Support Center to USC Upstate students.  We hire tutors to cover many of the 100 and 200 level courses (except English – see The Writing Center webpage).  Students must sign up in Palmetto House Rm. 148 or the Rampey Building. Signing up is quick and easy…someone will assist students in either location. Students must plan ahead, and be sure to sign up two days before their appointment.  They can book two weeks of appointments when signing up, but will have to come back to schedule additional appointments after that.  Students wishing to make a recurring appointment should contact Gwyn Spearman.  If a tutor is not readily for your course, you may put in a request for one with the Academic Support Center staff.  We make every effort to find an available tutor for 100, 200, and some 300 level courses.  Tutors are not available for 400 level classes.

• Students sign up for tutoring in Palmetto House 148 or Rampey Building (Most all tutoring occurs in the Palmetto House or Library on campus)
• Business students: Sign up for tutoring in Palmetto House 148 or Rampey Building (Tutoring occurs downtown at the George, or in the Palmetto House)
• Students are allowed two appointments, per subject, per week, for a maximum of one hour for each session.

Free Drop-In Tutoring is offered in the evening for Chemistry and Math through the Academic Support Center.  Every Sunday through Wednesday night  from 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm,   students go to the designated floor in the Palmetto House. Students not living in the residential halls must check in at the front desk first. Flyers are posted throughout campus and are on the Academic Support Center website.
