The Organization

Founded in 1982, the Spartanburg Writing Project is a professional development organization committed to the mission of improving writing and the teaching of writing by providing services and resources to the teachers, students, schools and school districts in our service area. The Spartanburg Writing Project is an affiliate of the National Writing Project, a national model for professional development with more than 180 sites across the United States and the world. Learn more about our history, philosophy and services.
