Call for Participation

Call for Papers: December 1, 2016
Submission Deadline: February 17, 2017

SARS Calendar

    To Present:
Faculty and students must submit a short research, scholarly or creative paper (2-3 pages) to the Thirteenth Annual SC Upstate Research Symposium (see instructions below). Faculty members who have not involved students in their current research efforts are welcomed to submit; however, students submitting papers to the Symposium must be working with a faculty mentor. Please contact the Symposium Chair with any questions or approval of special situations.

Research, scholarly and creative papers from all disciplines are welcomed and can report on completed projects or work in progress. Papers that speak only to forthcoming or intended work are not permitted. Papers will be reviewed by an inter-university panel of faculty (the symposium Program Committee). Papers that successfully make it through the review process will be accepted as oral presentations or posters. Contributing authors can indicate their preference, but may be asked by the Program Committee to change their preference so that the presentations can be better grouped into specialized sessions. All accepted papers (presentations and posters) will be printed in the Symposium Proceedings. Contributions similar to work that has been or will be presented or published elsewhere are encouraged, however, the author should also verify with the other conference/journal that this is acceptable. Presenter guidelines and additional information are available.

Student authors are eligible for awards. The Student Award Guidelines are available for review.

To submit a paper, you must email the Symposium Chair (mpilgrim@uscupstate.edu) a completed coversheet along with the 2-3 paper:

Submissions that do not follow the formatting guidelines (doc) very closely will not be reviewed. The deadline to submit papers will be: February 17, 2017. Late submissions will not be reviewed. Please contact the symposium chair with any questions or comments.
