Welcome Back Dance Party

Come join Residential Life and your new community on the Tree House Plaza, which is located between the Palmetto and Magnolia Houses. Music and beverages will be provided. Come meet your new neighbors and the Housing and Residential Life Staff!

Rock the Block
Monday, Aug. 20, 6 p.m., Tree House Plaza
Come out and enjoy the music of Winslow, activities and food as we kick off the new year with this block party on the Tree House Plaza, located between the Palmetto House and the Magnolia House. At the same time you will be able to meet representatives from Counseling, Campus Recreation, Student Life, and Housing and Residential Life as well as student organizations such as Campus Activity Board, Resident Hall Association, Campus Crusade for Christ, fraternities and sororities.

 Where am I Going? Scavenger Hunt

Come meet representatives from the Resident Hall Association (RHA) and Housing and Residential Life and learn where you are going across campus with a little friendly competition. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams. Bring your camera phones and a pen to play.

Stadium Party

Kick off the year with this traditional campus event. Meet the fall Spartan sports teams and enjoy free food, giveaways and great live entertainment. Dinner starts at 5:00pm with festivities to follow.

Movies on the Lawn
Wednesday, Aug 22, 9 p.m., Intramural Field
Get your blanket or chair and head out to the Intramural Fields located between the Treehouses for an outdoor showing of a fresh new feature. Upstate LIVE, the Residential Life programming group presents the 1st of many Movies on the Lawn which will take place the last Wednesday of every month throughout the year.

Are you thinking about "Going Greek?" This information session will provide an overview of Greek Life at USC Upstate including terminology, FAQs and University policies. This session is open to non-affiliated students only; chapters will not be present. Duplicate sessions will be offered at 5pm and 6pm to accommodate a large crowd.

Spartan Speaker Lecture Series: Jacy Good "Hang Up & Drive"
Tuesday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m., CLC Ballroom
Like most people, Jacy Good's college graduation day in May 2008 was to be one of the greatest days of her life. Her dreams were shattered just hours after she received her diploma, when a young man caused an accident that took the lives of both Good's parents and left her with a 10% chance of survival. Since the crash, Jacy has devoted her life to raising awareness about the dangers of cell phone use behind the wheel.
