Group Fitness Class Descriptions (Fall 2009)

Aqua Fit 
(50 min.)
The 50-minutes workout can be achieved in the water! Routines are designed to use each part of the body to its fullest capacity. Cardio-respiratory endurance is increased and joints are moved through their full range of motion. The intensity of your workout will be governed by your level of conditioning. (For all levels)

Cardio Kick
(50 min.)

Mixing kickboxing moves with high energy cardio will leave you feeling powerful and fit. (For all levels)

Mondays7:00 - 7:50 p.m.
Wednesdays7:00 - 7:50 p.m.
Circuit Training
(50 min.)
This class will start with the basics of strength training exercises and incorporate cardio and core exercises. (For all levels)
Mondays12:00 noon - 12:45 p.m.
Tuesdays7:00 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.
Wednesdays12:00 noon - 12:45 p.m.
Fridays12:00 noon - 12:45 p.m.
Cycling
(50 min.)

Join us on a ride through hills, flat roads and various terrains on an indoor bike. (For all levels)

Wednesdays5:00 - 5:50 p.m., and 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.
Fridays5:00 - 5:50 p.m. ONLY
Step-N-Pump
(50 min.)

Combination of step cardio and resistance training to kick your fitness up a notch. (For all levels)

Thursdays7:00 - 7:50 p.m.
Yoga
(50 min.)
Join this class to focus on flexibility and balance for both your mind and body. (For all levels)
Tuesdays5:00 - 5:50 p.m.

Certifications and Workshops
In the fall, the Wellness Center will host a number of certification classes and workshops, including:

  • September 25: YogaCore Workshop, 5 - 9 p.m.
  • September 26 & 27: YogaFit Level 1 Certification, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. (both days)
  • October 3 & 4: AFAA Practical Skills and Choreography and Primary Group Fitness Instructor Certification*
  • October 23 - 25: AFAA Personal Training Workshop and Certification*
  • November 7 & 8: AFAA Step Skills & Choreography and Step Certification*
  • November 21 & 22: AFAA Kickboxing Skills & Choreography and Kickboxing Certification*

* Registration is required for these programs and, unless otherwise noted, there will be fees charged. AFAA Certifications are open to faculty, staff and students for 35% off, and also community members (no discount).
** YogaFit Workshop is open to faculty, staff, students, and community members.
