Maya Carter
Aquatics Director
The daughter of Patricia and William Carter, Maya Carter is a native of Dayton, Ohio. Maya has more than 20 years of progressive, responsible experience in Aquatics. Prior to joining USC Upstate Maya was the Aquatics Supervisor for Trotwood-Madison High School (Dayton, Ohio). Trotwood is the only high school in Dayton that has a Natatorium. During her tenure at Trotwood, she also was the Assistant Meet Manger during the 2009 Sectional Swim Meet.
Maya is an active Instructor Trainer for The American Red Cross and holds Instructor certification in CPR, 1st Aid, Lifeguarding and Water Safety.
Maya holds a Master of Arts degree from Antioch University McGregor (Yellow Springs, Ohio) in Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Studies from the University of Rio Grande (Rio Grande, Ohio).
In 2000-2001 Maya received awards from The United States Water Fitness Association as one of the top Aquatic Directors and top programs in the United States.
