The University of Applied Sciences Worms, or Fachhochschule Worms in German, is a public institute of higher learning located in Worms, Germany. Founded in 1978, the university is now home to roughly 3,100 students and prides itself on having an excellent student/professor ratio. An international focus has also led to over a quarter of the student population being from outside Germany. This high percentage comes from international relationships with universities in over 50 countries.
The banks of the Rhine River are home to the city of Worms. It is one of three cities that lay claim to being the oldest city in Germany, along with Trier and Cologne. While that may be debated, what is known is Worm's history dates back to before 14 BC. Today it is home to over 80,000 residents in 13 boroughs that surround the city center.
