Impact Agenda 2018-2023

In accord with the USC Upstate strategic plan, Up:Together 2018-2023, Chancellor Brendan Kelly has designated three critical areas of collective focus to capture the energy surrounding our University’s exponential growth and expanding regional footprint, our continuing commitment to student and employee excellence across all of our learning and working environments, as well as our role as a public, regional comprehensive university in service to the citizens of the Upstate of South Carolina. Those areas are Wellness, Equity and Civility and each one serves as the foundation for corresponding initiatives that seek to strengthen our organizational/operational practices and deliver on the promise of creating transformative opportunities for our students, our workforce and our region.

Wellness
Wellness represents the creation and promotion of environmental conditions that produce positive and healthful physical, emotional and educational outcomes that demonstrate our collective commitment to the holistic and professional development of all members of the campus community.

Equity
Equity represents the creation and maintenance of operational processes, practices and spaces that affirm identity, promote safety, inclusion and fairness and celebrate and expand the intellectual, cultural and experiential dimensions of humanity.

Civility
Civility represents the embodiment of professionalism in our interpersonal and organizational communication and conduct both, individually and collectively.

Each initiative is representative of Chancellor Kelly’s commitment to:

  1. Address opportunities for innovation and improvement
  2. Evidence-based decision-making and alignment of University resources
  3. Continuous assessment, evaluation and feedback across all levels of the University
  4. The delivery of specific, measurable outcomes and actions in full alignment with University goals that become embedded in USC Upstate’s organizational culture and practices.
