"I had a dream about having a career in French. It was indeed at Upstate where this dream took off."

Dr. Xinyi Tan is an assistant professor of Chinese and French at Coastal Carolina University. Originally from Changchun, China, Dr. Tan arrived at USC Upstate through a double-degree program. Her experience at Upstate illuminated a possible career path with French, which led to her decision of pursuing a doctorate in French. As a scholar and a foreign language instructor, she is committed to promoting the value of foreign languages and cultures through her research and teaching.
