The ever expanding music program places an emphasis on contemporary topics that include music business, history of rock music, career preparation, and songwriting. Mission StatementThe mission of the music program at USC Upstate is to provide an experiential learning environment that prepares the student for careers in performing, private instruction, music directing, career management, publishing, or working with technology in contemporary and diverse professional music environments. In alliance with USC Upstate’s mission to be a metropolitan university, the greatest concern of the music department is to give students the skills to find employment and make artistic contributions to their community and the music industry.
