Fall 2020 Auditions
Declaration ThumbnailDeclaration, By Jonathan Dorf
Monday, October 5, 2020 at 7 p.m. | Virtual Event via Zoom (*RSVP required)
Audition Information:

Synopsis: A group of students gets up in the morning, jumping into the expected cycle of every school day--but today, the school they go to is part of a larger, terrifying cycle of mass shootings. In a series of connected scenes and monologues that occur before, during, and after the event, young people of all stripes piece together what is happening and why. With fire, humor, and power, Declaration gives students a voice to ask whether the promise of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” can be fulfilled, crouched behind a barricaded classroom door.

  • Cast: 7 male identifying characters, 5 female identifying characters

  • Contains strong emotional content and adult language

  • Sides and monologues will be provided for cold readings. View in advanced, here

  • A partial copy of the script can be viewed for FREE, here.

This play is an ensemble piece so the director will be looking for levels of creativity, compatibility, and teamwork from those that audition. Each actor will be required to take on multiple roles. The director will choose different people to read separately in a 'Breakout Room' within Zoom.

RSVP is required to attend the audition. You must RSVP by noon on Monday, October 5.
