Psychology Programs of Study

Bachelor of Science in Psychology

The USC Upstate experimental psychology program is one of the largest on campus and offers the Bachelor of Science degree in experimental psychology. Students may earn the Bachelor of Arts in psychology by adding a second year of a world language. The program of study provides students the opportunity to acquire knowledge in many facets of psychology. The program includes courses such as introduction to psychology, statistics, introduction to experimental psychology, developmental psychology, psychological disorders, health psychology, learning and memory, cognitive psychology, psychology of personality, social psychology, sensation and perception, physiological psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, and psychology and law, as well as other elective topics.

Minors in Psychology

We offer a minor in psychology and a minor in Child Advocacy Studies (CAST). The CAST minor is an interdisciplinary minor that provides comprehensive training to students who plan to work in a variety of areas seeing children. The program includes courses such as introduction to child maltreatment, systems response to child maltreatment, intervention & prevention strategies, and an internship experience.
