  4. Student loan default rates and other consumer information
    - USC Upstate provides student consumer information here
    - The United States Department of Education releases official cohort default rates once per year. A cohort default rate is the percentage of a school's borrowers who enter repayment on certain Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program or William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program Loans during a particular federal fiscal year (FY), October 1 to September 30, and default or meet other specificed conditions prior to the end of the second following fiscal year. To access USC Upstates' student loan default rates:
    1. Go to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
    2. Find "Search the Cohort Default Rate Database" and select "Go"
    3. In the box labeled school, enter: University of South Carolina Upstate
    4. Click on the University of South Carolina link
    5. View data on Upstate default rates.
