Call Me MiSTER

Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models

I want to support the Call Me MiSTER Program.

At USC Upstate, in partnership with Spartanburg County School Districts and other nearby districts, we are proud to help shape the next generation of transformational educators through the Call Me MiSTER (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) program.

This visionary initiative is designed to recruit, support, and empower aspiring teachers who are committed to making a lasting impact in classrooms and communities.

Call Me MiSTER is more than a scholarship program; it is a living-learning community that fosters leadership, mentorship, and academic excellence. Participants receive financial assistance toward tuition, fees, and a semesterly stipend, while also gaining access to a powerful network of peers and mentors. In return, MiSTERs commit to teaching in a public school after graduation, where they will serve not only as educators but as role models and change agents in the lives of their students.

Call Me MiSTER is cultivating the next generation of transformational educators through intentional programming, personalized support, tuition assistance, and ongoing professional development. We provide our scholars with access to Praxis preparation and resources, one- on-one mentorship, leadership development opportunities, and targeted academic and financial support to ensure their success from enrollment through graduation and into the classroom.

Open to students majoring in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Middle Level Education, Art Education, Physical Education, or Special Education, the program offers multiple pathways to success. MiSTERs may begin their journey at USC Upstate or transfer to complete their degree. Upon graduation, they enter the classroom equipped with the tools, vision, and support to lead with purpose and inspire the next generation.
