Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering
The Division of Natural Sciences and Engineering (NSE) offers Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in biology, chemistry, engineering technology management and a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree in advanced manufacturing management. The chemistry program is certified by the American Chemical Society, and a certified chemistry degree is an option for chemistry majors, as is a concentration in forensic science. Minors are offered in biology and in chemistry.
In addition, NSE offers pre-professional options as advisement tracks: Pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-physician assistant, pre-veterinary medicine, pre-optometry, and pre-pharmacy. Pre-engineering students can take courses at Upstate while they prepare for transfer to various engineering schools. Courses are offered in the areas of astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology and physics to support NSE majors and general education. A variety of undergraduate research opportunities and internships are also supported.
