Eb and Maggie Barnes Memorial Scholarship
The Eb and Maggie Barnes Memorial Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to a non-traditional student completing a degree at the USC Upstate Greenville campus. The Scholarship is awarded annually in honor of Eb and Maggie Barnes who both met a tragic and untimely death on May 16, 2003. Dr. Eb Barnes worked at USC Upstate for 28 years. During the last seven years, he advised students on the USC Upstate Greenville campus. He loved non-traditional students, and he always wanted a scholarship for adult students who were attending part-time at the USC Upstate Greenville campus. One scholarship in the amount of $1000 ($500 in Fall and $500 in Spring) will be awarded.

Judith Sosebee Prince Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students
When Dr. Judith Prince was asked how she wanted to be recognized when she retired from the position of Vice Chancellor for the USC Upstate Greenville Campus, she stated that she wanted a scholarship created for non-traditional students earning degrees part-time on the USC Upstate Greenville campus. She had provided leadership for the Eb and Maggie Barnes Scholarship for many years, and she knew that scholarship funds were needed by part-time students on the Greenville campus. Donations from friends, colleagues, students, and others made it possible to award the scholarship within one year of its announcement.
- A non-traditional student (25 years old or older) enrolled in a degree-seeking program and working toward a first undergraduate degree;
- Attends classes at the USC Upstate Greenville Campus only;
