Pre-Physical Therapy
The USC Upstate Pre-Physical Therapy program is an advisement track within the exercise and sport science degree program that meets entry requirements for physical therapy programs. There are two physical therapy degree programs offered in South Carolina.
The University of South Carolina (USC) and Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) each offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT). Graduates will be prepared to contribute to the physical therapy profession as a clinical practitioner, as a faculty member and/or as a researcher.
A bachelor’s degree and Graduate Record Exam (GRE) are required for admission. Admission decisions are based on prerequisite GPA, science GPA, GRE scores, letters of reference, experience with physical therapy, volunteer/service activities and honors and awards.
For more information on the physical therapy field, see the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
