How do I apply to the DNP Program?

First Step: You must Apply Online to USC Upstate university and pay the $45 application fee. Send all official transcripts to admissions@uscupstate.edu.

When can I apply to the DNP Graduate program?

You can apply anytime.

What are deadlines to apply to the DNP Graduate program?

There is not a deadline, but we ask that you have all necessary documents within 2 weeks of the starting semester for which you are applying.

How is course work delivered?

All classes are held 100% online with the exception of clinical hours.

What If I am having trouble accessing my email, SSC and blackboard account?

If you are having trouble accessing email, SSC, or Blackboard, please contact the Division of Information Technology (IT).

How long does it take to complete the DNP program?

If you are a full-time student the program usually takes two calendar years to complete.

What are required prerequisites to get accepted into the DNP program?

A completion of accredited BSN and MSN degrees and you must have an active, clear, unrestricted RN license.

How many credit hours are required to complete the DNP program?

37 credit hours.

How many practicum hours are required?

Upon admission the number of relevant clinical hours earned in your masters program will be assessed to ensure the combination of masters and doctoral clinical hours combined meet the 1000 clinical hour requirement upon DNP degree completion. Clinical hours will be completed in Public and Community Health settings. If you work in this area, you can complete your hours with your place of employment , however hours must be completed when you are not working.

What if I have questions or need a hold lifted registering for classes?

All DNP graduate students will be assigned an advisor who can help with questions and lift holds.

Do you have loans or scholarships that can help reduce financial burden?

Though not always guaranteed, our Dean and Director work constantly to receive scholarships, loan and grants to ensure all our students have a substantial, and worthy experience at the Mary Black College of Nursing! Scholarship opportunities can be located at Scholarships, Grants and Loans.
