The Mary Black School of Nursing is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017. We need your help to make this celebration as memorable and representative of each class of students as possible. The Mary Black School of Nursing at USC Upstate, fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the South Carolina Board of Nursing, is one of the Southeast’s most highly regarded nursing institutions offering a four-year degree, as well as the largest BSN program that includes prelicensure and the RN-BSN nursing program in South Carolina. The Mary Black School of Nursing also offers a Master of Science in Nursing which began in the fall of 2014.

USC Upstate offers programs such as on-site instruction, distance learning and inter-institutional articulation to accommodate students who are diverse in background, age, race, ethnicity, educational experiences and needs. The programs rest upon a foundation of partnerships with the community, including health care organizations and health care providers in Upstate South Carolina.

Faculty members of the Mary Black School of Nursing are committed to excellence in teaching, advising and in providing experiential learning opportunities that empower students to become competent professionals who give high quality nursing care to diverse populations. Our graduates practice in 36 states and three continents.

  • RN-BSN students can choose to attend class at the University Center Greenville or enroll in online classes.
  • RN-BSN students can also choose to begin their studies in the fall or spring.
