The art history minor at USC Upstate enables students to become proficient at describing and analyzing art. Students will conduct original research projects and develop interpretations of images and artifacts from visual culture using a variety of art historical methods, critical and theoretical frameworks, and interdisciplinary approaches. Students who earn the art history minor will learn about the contexts in which art is made, received and circulated. The art history minor will help prepare students to further their academic studies in graduate programs and/or to enter into careers in museums, galleries, schools, and community arts organizations.
