Application Requirements for Master of Education Programs

  1. Application, application fee (currently $40), citizenship form with supporting documentation, and residency (online – has to be completed every year). To apply:
    • Use the following button to apply, and follow the instructions below.

    • Select “first time user or returning user.” If you are a first-time user, you will be asked to create a login and pin. Returning users enter their login and pin. If you have forgotten your username and/or pin, contact Alyssa Dickerson at
    • Select the appropriate term, “Upstate” campus, and “Upstate Graduate Degree Seeking”. The application fee has to be paid online with debit/credit card before exiting the application or it will not submit.
  2. Send official transcripts showing all post-secondary course work attempted and the award of the baccalaureate or higher degree by an accredited college or university.
  3. Send three recommendations using the required form. Letters are encouraged as a complement to the form, but not required.
  4. Report official test scores to USC Upstate on either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
  5. Provide a copy of your valid teaching certificate.
  6. Provide a personal statement: 1-2 pages on why you are choosing this field.
