Student teaching in a Greenville County classroom

Teacher Education at Greenville

Teacher education courses offered at UCG are at the junior and senior level. The programs are designed for those individuals with 30 or more hours of college credit, or for students who may have completed an associate's degree and would like to transfer those credits toward a bachelor's degree. We have a 2+2 agreement with Greenville Technical College (and other technical/community colleges in the region). Additionally, the USC Upstate School of Education now offers graduate degree programs at UCG via distance education technologies.

Students who already have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education may pursue teacher certification through a second baccalaureate degree from the USC Upstate School of Education. Under unique circumstances, a student may be classified as “certification only” and complete the requirements for certification without receiving a second degree.
