  • Internship Fair
    When: September 18, 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
    Where: CLC Ballroom

    Backstage Pass to the Internship Fair

    Attending a career fair, especially as a freshman, can be overwhelming. To alleviate some of the pressure, Career Services is providing a Backstage Pass to freshmen during the Fall 2018 Internship Fair. Students will hear about the benefits of internships, learn the do’s and don’ts of a career fair, and get a guided walk-though of the event so they will be pros when they later attend a career fair in search of an internship or job.  There are three different sessions available, each session should last about 30 minutes.

    Nursing Recruitment Fair
    When: October 22, 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Where: HEC Gym

  • Students and alumni, please visit Career Services prior to an event. We will have workshops leading up to all Internship Fairs and Career Expos. If you are unable to attend a workshop, please call us for an appointment or review the preparation tips below. It is so important to plan before you attend an event. You want to impress the recruiters and show them why they need to hire USC Upstate students and alumni.

    Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!

    • Attend a workshop
    • Update your resume and bring several copies with you
    • Determine your objectives for attending
    • Review the companies attending the fair and position descriptions on Spartan Career Link
    • Visit company web sites to review mission statements, annual reports, and products or services
    • Develop and refine networking skills
    • Develop your “30 Second Message”
    • Dress for Success-Business Attire is required, if you need assistance visit the Career Closet

    A 30 second message includes:

    1. Relevant background information: education and experience
    2. Summary of your career interests and skills
    3. A question or request for assistance

    2. Click on “Events” tab
    3. Click on the name of the fair to view participating employers and general posting information

    To view job postings:

    2. Click on “Jobs/Internships” and select “Jobs”
    3. Perform a keyword search for the fair using the tips on the Jobs/Internships Search page
