Career Closet

The Career Closet in Career Management at USC Upstate was made possible by an initial grant and continuous support from Enterprise Holdings, as well as other forms of support from donors such as Master’s Mark Dry Cleaning and Price’s Store for Men. It is our goal in Career Management to help all of our students dress for success. We hope that students will see the Career Closet as another resource to aid them in preparation for our Internship Fairs, Career Expos, as well as Interviews off of campus. It is open to all students and alumni, whether they need a complete suit, shirt, belt, tie or shoes. We can assist them with as much or little as they need. Dressing for Success

Student wanting to know how to dress should see our Dress for Success guide. Generally, you’ll want to be in business casual for your day-to-day work. For interviews, career fairs, or special work occasions business formal is more appropriate. When in doubt, the one outfit which will work for anyone in virtually any situation is a white or blue button-down shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Business Casual

Appropriate casual dress typically includes slacks or khakis, dress shirt or blouse, open-collar or polo shirt, a dress or skirt at knee-length or below, and loafers or dress shoes that cover all or most of the foot.
