Nominations Now Open for Alumni Awards

Each year, the USC Upstate Alumni Association proudly presents three alumni awards to recognize the outstanding achievements of graduates who have earned distinction in their chosen field.

Help us recognize the exceptional achievements of USC Upstate graduates by submitting your nomination for the 2023 awards today.

There are three awards for nominations, which are detailed below:

The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to alumni who have reached the pinnacle of their career and who have made exceptional contributions in one or more of the following ways:

  • Achieved distinction in chosen field
  • Exceptional service in local, state, or national affairs
  • Exceptional service in support of the advancement and continued excellence of USC Upstate

The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes alumni whose achievements in career, public service, and volunteerism have brought honor to themselves and the university. This award takes into account worthy accolades in all of the following areas:

  • Achievements in business or professional career
  • Community affairs at local or state levels
  • Support of the advancement and continued excellence of USC Upstate

The Young Alumni Award is designed to recognize USC Upstate graduates 40 years of age or younger who represent the future leaders of tomorrow. Standards for recognition include one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Commitment of service to others
  • Substantial commitment to USC Upstate and its mission

Helpful points of reference for nominating a USC Upstate Alumni:

  1. Please review our three award descriptions and evaluation criteria to decide which award your candidate best fits.
  2. Check to see if your candidate has already received the Alumni Award for which you are nominating them. Previous winners are listed on the tabs within the Alumni Award description. Once a candidate receives an award, they are not eligible to be nominated for the same award again.
  3. Consider reaching out to your nominee to inform them that you are nominating them for an award.
  4. All identifying information will be withheld to eliminate bias for the selection committee.
