Job Descriptions
Facility Attendant
The Facility Assistant will be a customer service oriented position. The position will be located at the Spartan Rec Center Front Desk. Facility Attendants report to the Facility Supervisor.
Facility Supervisor
The Facility Supervisor will provide for the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Spartan Rec Center. The Facility Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of the Facility & Weightroom Attendants.
Weightroom Attendant
Weightroom Attendants are responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the Spartan Rec Center weightroom areas. They assist participants in the proper use of equipment and enforce policies of the Wellness Center. Weightroom Attendants report to the Facility Supervisor.
Group Fitness Instructor
Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for leading safe and effective group fitness classes.
Lifeguard
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director - Aquatics and/or Head Lifeguard enforce safety regulations for the protection of pool patrons; make suggestions for new or updated regulations; assist in general maintenance, and perform other duties as assigned.
Marketing Intern
The Marketing Internship is a student position in the Spartan Rec Center responsible for the creation and promotion of events by the department. The intern will report to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation.
Intramural Official
An Intramural Official is responsible for safely and fairly maintaining game play. Officials must understand the rules for the current sport they are officiating and be able to make fair unbiased judgements through play. This position reports to the Assistant Director – Intramurals.
Sparty’s Kids Camp Counselor Coordinator
The Counselor Coordinator assists the Camp Director(s) to aid in safety of all Sparty’s Kids Campers, daily operation of the camp, as well as development of camp programs for the Spartanburg community. The Counselor Coordinator is responsible for providing customer service to all Sparty’s Kids Camp parents. The Counselor Coordinator oversees camp management and program development.
Sparty’s Kids Camp Counselor
The Sparty’s Kids Camp Student Counselor assists the Camp Director(s) to aid in safety of all Sparty’s Kids Campers, daily operation of the camp, as well as development of camp programs for the Spartanburg community. The Sparty’s Kids Camp counselor is responsible for developing fun and safe activities. The Counselor oversees and implements all activities while maintaining a positive attitude.
