How do I make an appointment at Health Services if I feel sick?
Call 864-503-5191 Monday-Friday between 8:30AM-5PM to speak with a nurse practitioner.

Where should I go if I need Counseling Services?
USC Upstate recognizes that students may need support through this unique situation. Our Counseling Services department will continue to be available to help you best manage your health. For information, visit Counseling Services or call 864-503-5195 and press “1” to speak with a staff member. If you are calling after hours or on a weekend, please press “2” at the prompt. Secure messages may be sent via the MyHealth Portal.

Will USC Upstate refund me the cost of room and board or tuition?
The state’s Commission on Higher Education is coordinating with colleges and universities in order to address housing and other service reimbursements to ensure student investments are protected. As official decisions are made, we will continue to share information with our campus community.
I’m in need of immediate financial or living assistance. Where can I go?
USC Upstate’s Spartan Pantry provides food and other basic necessities throughout the school year to USC Upstate students in need. Please visit Spartan Pantry Access During COVID-19 for more information. Additionally, the Spartan Student Emergency Fund assists USC Upstate students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency or catastrophic event which would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education at USC Upstate. What’s the plan for graduation?
Sadly, the May Commencement ceremonies must also be postponed across the UofSC System, including USC Upstate. Working closely with System President Bob Caslen, we are committed to exploring options for rescheduled, in-person ceremonies when it is safe to gather together to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2020. Students, please know this change will not impact your degree completion status if you are scheduled to graduate in May.
How will this impact my class schedule, labs, etc.?
Classes and labs continue with instruction moving online rather than face-to-face. Instructors will contact students this week with information on how courses will proceed. Be sure to check your USC Upstate email regularly. If you haven't heard from an instructor, please let us know by filling out this form: I Haven't Heard From My Professor form.
I've decided to withdraw this semester. Will I be penalized academically?
The challenges of moving to virtual instruction mid-semester have created stress and anxiety for all of us. In recognition of these unique circumstances, and out of an abundance of fairness to our students, the last day to withdraw from a class without penalty has been extended to April 27, the last day of classes. USC Upstate hopes this extension will give you the opportunity to make the best decision about whether to remain in all of your classes in this very unusual semester.
I work on campus. How will this affect my job?
Our goal is to keep student employees working, if possible. Your supervisor will be in contact to discuss the possibility of working remotely from home.
I was supposed to have a meeting with my advisor. What should I do now?
Advising will continue on a regular schedule. Advisors have sent emails to students with instructions on how to sign up for an appointment. Check your USC Upstate Inbox. Appointments will be virtual, not face-to-face. Not sure who your advisor is? Check in Starfish under My Network, look for Primary Advisor. None listed? Email Dr. Kim Purdy.
What about tutoring?

Will this affect enrollment for summer or fall?
We are following a normal schedule for summer/fall enrollment at this time.
I am concerned about moving to virtual instruction. What should I do?
If something is making it difficult for you to keep on learning, please let us know by filling out this Keep On Learning assistance form . We will help you find a solution.
There is a hold on my registration due to an unpaid parking ticket. Can I still pay?
Our Public Safety office is open. Students can pay in-person or online. For information, call 864-503-5777. To pay online, visit the USC Upstate page at Remit Online.
I need access to the Math Tutoring Lab. What should I do?
The Math Tutoring Lab has gone virtual. Please call Desmond via Skype at desmond1412281 from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 11:30-5:30 p.m. on Fridays.
What about the Computer Science lab?
The CSCI tutoring lab has gone virtual as well. CS tutors have a Discord (https://discord.gg/pk7bZzd) server that they have already put to use this semester. Is the Upstate Writing Center closed?
Beginning Monday, March 23, the Upstate Writing Center will offer virtual tutoring to students. Please contact Director Brock Adams at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating a date and time that you’d like your tutoring session to take place. Dr. Adams will facilitate communication between tutors and students.
