BYOD Recommended Devices
USC Upstate has built a network that will accommodate most devices. As you search for the best device, please see the information below. We have outlined several devices or device types that we have already tested on our network.
There are two feature recommendations for a device to qualify for our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiative. The device you choose should be wi-fi capable and have an internet browser. These two features will provide access to university resources that will enhance the educational experience.
The devices below are separated into categories to help you make the best decision based your specific needs and the requirements of your degree program. If there is a specific device listed, it means we have tested that device on our network. (Note: All specs are pulled directly from the manufacturers website.) The ITS Help Desk will help connect and troubleshoot for all other devices. While the ITS Help Desk can make hardware recommendations, the ITS Help Desk can only support Dell hardware.
