Downloading and Installing the Personal Capture Tool

Step 1: Go to echo360.org. If you have not already created a login for the site you will need to set a password. Instructions should have been emailed to you or you can contact the Help Desk for assistance.

Step 2: Click on the gear icon and select "Downloads".

Step 3: Choose Mac or Windows download

Step 4: Run the downloaded file. If on a Windows computer, you may need to acknowledge the security warning.

Step 5: If you are on a PC and get a Symantec warning, click "Allow this file".

Step 6: Click "Next" and follow the prompts to install the software. It will automatically uninstall any previous versions you have.

Step 7: PC Users - If you have already saved recordings from a previous version to your computer and wish to reuse them, you will need to change the "data directory" location. Type or browse to the following location in the "data directory" box (replacing "yourusername" with your USC Upstate username): C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Echo360\Personal Capture\Recordings. If you cannot find your recording at this location, please contact the Help Desk. Click "Next" to continue the installation.

Step 9: Click "Finish" to complete the installation.
