Installing and Running Juniper VPN

Please note: USC Columbia now requires multifactor authentication to use this software. Before logging in to Juniper VPN, read the following instructions to set up MFA.

  1. If you already have Network Connect installed on your University computer, proceed to step 9. Otherwise, go to my.sc.edu.
  2. Click on purchase computer software.

  3. Scroll down to software for work, security and select Juniper VPN.

  4. After reading license agreement, click on the link at bottom to obtain the software.

  5. Enter your Columbia network ID (this is the same as your Blackboard username and password). Click Sign-In.
  6. If a pop-up windows appears in your browser, click the install button.
  7. If you get a security warning, click run.
  8. When it asks if you want to download, install and/or execute software from the following server (Product Name: Network Connect 6.5.0; Software Name: neoNCSetup.exe; Server Name: sslvpn.sc.edu) click Always or Yes.
  9. To run the software in future, type network connect into your start menu search bar and open the software with that name.
  10. Login with your USC network username and password (your Blackboard login).
  11. Once you are connected, you can access University network drives and other USC Upstate services.
